Chili. I guess it’s all about chili.
Not this white bean vegetarian variety either. This is the slightly spicy-been in the slow cooker all day-not short on the meat kind of chili. This is the Meat + Beans = Goodness.
I never really imagined, while giving my final salute to the Great City of Salt, that I’d be back. I was movin’ on up, as the saying goes, to the East side, and I wasn’t looking back. New York was on the horizon and most importantly it was very, very far away. I totally underestimated the powers of the blue eyed boy I was leaving behind.
I guess it was always like that. After a four year long distance relationship, I realized I had underestimated the power of togetherness. After five years of chasing my dreams as a modern dancer, I realized I had underestimated the power of support. And at the end of the day, after chasing so many ideas down so many roads, I realized I kept coming home to this blond boy because of a simple fact: he stirred my chili.
And isn’t that what life’s all about? Why did we decide to go into the competitive, creative service field of photography? Because it stirred the chili. And we wanted to do it together. Call us crazy, but raising a family while doing something together that we love is what the Meat + Beans is all about…
and it tastes great.
Chris is a nationally traveled wedding and portrait photographer who calls Salt Lake City home with his lovely wife and business partner Charlene and their three boys. He is a 2001 graduate of local Weber State University and she is a 2000 graduate of Vassar College.
